Frequently Asked Questions

I hope my website provides all the information you need. Please get in touch if you need any more information, I would love to Chat!
When should I book my photography experience?

I would recommend booking your session as soon as possible to secure your preferred date. I take newborn session bookings from your 12-week scan, so please get in touch once you know your due date. The best time to book your maternity sessions is ideally at around 36 weeks so I can capture the full size and roundness of your bump. If you leave it too late you may feel too uncomfortable and baby may decide to arrive earlier than expected! Once you book, you will receive a welcome pack by post, which details handy hints and tips, ‘what to wear’ guide and all the relevant information to make the most out of your photography experience.

How long will my photography experience take?

Your session will always be on-location: in the comfort of your own home, your favourite park or one of the many beautiful locations across Yorkshire. I will work closely with you in our initial consultation to design your own bespoke photographic experience that would be best suited to you and your family. I only schedule one session a day because I want you to enjoy every moment of your photography experience! Typically, a maternity session will last between 1 to 1.5 hours. A newborn session tends to take a little longer, to allow plenty of time for feeding and settling your baby. You can expect your newborn session to last between 3 to 4 hours, although you’ll find this time goes very quickly!

What happens after my photography experience?

A presentation of your collection will take place roughly one week following your session, in the comfort of your own home. Typically, you will view around 20 fully retouched coloured and black & white images, presented as a slideshow. I can help you design wall displays, fine art albums and gifts for relatives.

Do I get all the images on a disk?

Families love that I design bespoke wall art pieces that add a ‘wow factor’ to their homes; or to create beautifully crafted folio albums that tell their unique stories. My experience is that USBs gets tucked away in a drawer and forgotten about (or worst still, lost!) – for this reason, I do not offer digital images. When it comes to ordering, I don’t do “hard sell” – it’s just not my style! I provide you with my full product price list when you book. This way, you can choose the products that work best for you. I can help you design wall displays, fine art albums and gifts for relatives.

Can I share my images on social media?

Of course you’d want to share your beautiful images with your friends and family! After your session, I can post a few “sneak peek” images to my Sharon Chan Photography Facebook page, if you give me permission to do so. This way, you can tag yourself and your family so that it appears on your profile! The images will be watermarked for your protection to prevent them being copied.

I have looked through your website, but I can’t find what I am looking for!
